Opened in May 2005, Pun Hlaing International Hospital (PHIH) was established for one simple mission: “To provide an international standard medical facility in our country’s private sector.” The need has been evidenced by the growing demand for higher standard of medical service and also became more prominent by the growing number of patients travelling overseas for medical treatment in recent years.

The history of Pun Hlaing International Hospital starts with the hospital development team from Washington D.C., Singapore and Myanmar which has spent 4 years from ground-earth planning to put hospital into action with latest specifications of a modern hospital. The resultant product is three storey Medical service building and 4 storey treatment ward with a total floor area of 21,000 sq. meters comprising 6 operating theatres, a designated delivery suite with 4 normal labour suites and 2 caesarian section theatres, 9 ICU rooms, a modern imaging suite and a laboratory equipped with state of the art testing equipment amongst many other facilities. The hospital will have 95 beds in the initial stage with the capacity to expand more in the future.

In February 06, Pun Hlaing specialist Clinic was opened in the FMI Center 4th floor in order to provide quality care and providing better convenience to our customers in the city.

A group of over 200 highly dedicated physicians and specialists from Myanmar together with a professional team of nurses and residential medical officers and highly efficient management teams are at the core of the PHIH to provide highest standards of care to the patients. In addition, oversea doctors in 7 specialties such as cardiology, cardiac surgery, joint replacement surgery, plastic surgery, general surgery, breast and thyroid surgery and eye cataract surgery are regularly practicing their skills at PHIH to obviate the need for Myanmar patients to travel abroad for medical services and provide the Myanmar medical specialists, opportunities to closely collaborate with their oversea counterparts.
