Established in February 2006, Myanmar Agri-Tech Ltd. (MAGT) is the flagship company of the Agriculture Division of SPA/FMI Group. The principal businesses of MAGT include development and management of jatropha plantation as well as trading of jatropha-based products. Jatropha is commonly known as the best feedstock in terms of economics and sustainability for the production of biodiesel. Through our initiatives in jatropha plantation and trading, MAGT is poised to become a key global player in the bio-energy sector.

MAGT’s plantation is situated in the Ayeyarwaddy Division of Myanmar, 160 miles west of Yangon, and occupies a total land area of around 100,000 acres. MAGT is currently developing this plantation in phases and have amassed considerable experience in commercial scale planting of jatropha trees. Through our in-house R&D, we are now identifying elite species of jatropha which is best acclimated to the local conditions and produces the highest oil yield. Leveraged on the Group’s strong presence Myanmar, our jatropha trading department sources jatropha-based products from all over the country.
