Yoma Bank Business Description
With the liberalization of the financial sector in 1993, Yoma Bank was granted a full commercial banking license on the 27th July 1993.
The first branch was officially opened for business on the 14th of August1993 at No.1 Kun Gyan Road, Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon, where it still stands today.
Since then, Yoma Bank has grown from strength to strength and today boasts as the private bank with the most branch network of 41 branches in Myanmar. Our branches cover 24 major cities nationwide with a total of 13 branches within the capital alone.
In 1999, the Bank set up its own IT Department (Information Technology) to spearhead an integrated computerization plan – The Yoma Integrated Banking System (YIBS) - to keep abreast with the technology and the ever changing banking environment. As at to-date, Yoma Bank has linked up all its branches nationwide using the satellite communications system to provide online banking facilities and services to customers all over the country. With this online infrastructure, Yoma Bank is able to provide top class banking services to the business community.
